STRONG ENOUGH
How It Came Together and What It Took
It started with a trip to Chicago in June. I met C. Lynn Williams, got to know her book, and I couldn't shake the feeling that it needed to be a film. Turned out she wanted to make one too — the synergy was instant. By the time I left, I already knew I was bringing my team back to make it real.
That's where the real work began. Over the next month I built the whole thing out from Philadelphia breaking down the script scene by scene, scouting and locking our Chicago locations, casting the family, and scheduling each scenes down to the shot. I planned the gear, the sound, and the lighting so we could do this story justice on an independent budget. Preproduction is the part nobody sees
29 days later, in July I brought my team back to Chicago, and we shot the entire short across one intense weekend while moving between locations,, and capturing every scene we planned. The cast showed up. The crew showed up. And what we walked away with was better than I hoped.
Now I'm inviting you in. Supporting Strong Enough isn't just backing a film, but it's helping start conversations that strengthen families all across the world. That's why I said yes in Chicago, and it's why we're asking for your help to finish what we started.
